Is Firefox Quantum really any good?

So Firefox Quantum came out about two weeks ago and is considered the biggest update in Firefox’s history. The browser is now considered substantially better and has doubled in speed from previous versions of Firefox. Although some say otherwise, Mozilla doesn’t believe that they have exceeded google chrome but closed the gap as far as speed goes.

Is Firefox Quantum worth it?

Yes it is. Quantum supports Chrome extensions thanks to Chrome Store Foxified, is less RAM hungry thanks to optimizations, and lastly the browser has gotten performance improvements. Quantum actually increased my Firefox RAM usage quite a bit, using more than chromium now.

Why is Firefox Quantum so fast?

Why is Firefox Quantum so fast? Firefox has historically run mostly on just one CPU core, but Firefox Quantum takes advantage of multiple CPU cores in today’s desktop and mobile devices much more effectively. This improved utilization of your computer’s hardware makes Firefox Quantum dramatically faster.

Is Firefox Quantum the kiss of death for Mozilla?

In any case, Quantum is a big step up from Firefox 52, so it’s definitely NOT a “kiss of death” for Mozilla. However, the simple fact that users prefer Google Chrome very well might be, unless Mozilla can find a way to turn things around.
